Cardboard strips measuring 27×3×1 cm, with a mild specific odor.
For the prevention and treatment of bees infested with Varroa destructor mites. The cardboard strips, impregnated with the active ingredient, are placed in the brood area of the hive using holders.
Composition
One strip contains the active ingredient:
Amitraz 6.75 mg (+/-10%) and excipients.
Method of application
For the prevention and treatment of bees infested with Varroa destructor mites. The cardboard strips, impregnated with the active ingredient, are placed in the brood area of the hive using holders.
Dosage
One strip per 3 bee spaces (equivalent to 4 brood frames).
The strip is technologically designed so that bees, through their activity, will attempt to remove it from the hive (by chewing).
Six days after placing the strips, a visual inspection is required. If the strip is missing or damaged, it must be replaced. This prolongs the action of the strip and ensures effective mite elimination.
The strip should remain in the hive for no less than 30 days.
Use after honey harvesting to prevent reproduction, parasitism, and damage to winter bee populations caused by the Varroa mite.
The product is applied in the spring before the beginning of nectar flow and during bee colony buildup.
Also applicable in the autumn after the main honey harvest.
For bee colonies with normal development, the strips should be placed between frames 3–4 and 7–8 and left in this position until the first visual inspection.
For 8–10 brood frames, use 2 strips. In multi-body hives, apply 2 strips per hive body.
Contraindications
Do not use “Apiatraz” when the ambient temperature is below +10 °C.
